Refered too as an angel, the angel of the lord, not because he was an actual angel, but because he identified with the angels, arc angel can mean leader of the angels, messenger, gods chosen vessel his actual son before his appearance in human flesh.
For exsmple Gods son also identified with us also as fallen beings with the nsme the son of man,
Philippians 2:6-11
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross

The son could die,the father could not have died,because he is the fountain or source of all life,unborrowed and original,impossible to die.He is the supreme diety being,YHWH
