Bang on re the cyclic nature, the thing I found the most interesting was the sheer volume of shares exchanged yesterday, the news was known to be coming so nothing left field yet the action was more in line with a market that was positively surprised.

I heard quite some time back that a few brokers thought that an ideal trading plan would be to lock up a reasonable portion of supply and fuel a fairly tight move up into the 10's. The trade sizes and volume yesterday could well have been the beginning of that move.

Today's low volume pull back/soak further supports the theory.
