You guys are confusing the different pillars of revenue.

The videos we have seen today are not "reviews", as you would find on yelp or trip advisor. They are advertisements, clearly developed to make the business look good. People who watch these videos are not watching them to get a critical view of a business. To get a critical view of a business with video you have to go to pillar 3 where users will be able to upload their own videos - this is already available!

Pillar 1 or the videos we see now are great. But would people rather watch user generated videos (pillar three) which have much poorer production and take a lot longer to get the same information than reading a text?

Personally I find it a lot easier to scroll down a page and read the texts of those reviews. Videos take a lot longer to load and the people who recorded the video will be poor presenters.

Pillar 1 and 2 will be god money spinners and the auto generation of pillar 3 will encourage businesses to sign up to pillar 1 services (so that they can share their automated videos to fb, instagram etc).

But I'm not sure people are going to flock to a video review site to see user generated videos. Hopefully big can out the text from the user generated videos along side the user generated content to give people the option of reading or playing the video. I think that would be a good move.

The real money spinner will be pillar3 providing content that businesses will want to least and share on other platforms like fb.
