just few statistics about speeding tickets in relation to WMT...

as far I can see there have only been 2 speeding tickets issued to WMT in its rise and fall from:

    1.9c on 13 Oct 2006
    to
    44c on 23 Apr 2007
    to
    19c on 6 Jul 2007

these speeding tickets were issued on 3 Nov 2006 when the sp moved from 2.4c to 4.5c and the other on 2 Feb 2006 when the sp moved from 9c to 12c.

fair enough, these rises were 80% and 33% respectively.

    so the players got smarter.....

the sp rose from 26.5c to 42.5c between 7 Apr and 16 Apr - a rise of 60% each stage being 13% 13% and 16%. The 16% rise on 16 Apr when the price rose from 36.5c to 42.5c.

and no speeding ticket for the 16% 16 Apr rise.

so it looks like so long as the sp stays below a certain figure on a given day, it won't attract any attention from the ASX, but if it stays just below that figure then a 60% totally unjustified increase can occur over a few days without raising any questions? as in the rise from 7 Apr to 16 Apr when the sp moved from 26.5c to 42.5c......

    strange behaviour from the ASX.

on the other hand, the ASX jumps on HCY when its sp moved from 1.7c to 2c on 21 Jun 2007. That's an increase of 17.6%

but then - on the way down from 44c to 19c - almost without relief, not a single speeding ticket.....

well done ASX - f arkin i diots.....
