What do they mean by nitrogen content of the grain? Never heard of it as a measurement when testing grain. The 2 main things i look for when testing wheat is protein then screenings. High protein wheat (APH2 with 13%+ protein and less than 5%screenings) currently have a huge premium over low protein asw wheat (less then 10.5% protein). Current spread is around $80 a tonne. Nitrogen is what gives you your protein. When you have low protein wheat it means the plant was lacking nitrogen and your yields were also lower than what they could've been had the crop had more nitrogen.
