Whenever I see this sort of stuff I think of the Y2K computer scare which EVERY scientist,computer expert, and so on was convinced would be a problem.
Everyone got caught up in the hype at the time and everyone believed it without question. Nobdy was prepared to question the experts
Couldn get over the so called "scientists" argueing about if it is warmer now than in the 1990s...It would seem they cannot even agree on the recent records from their own data collection.
But surely this illustrates one of points at least

Iif the temperature has gone up in the last 10 or 20 years, it does not prove one way or the other, what is happening. The cycle is much longer than 20 years so one way or another is not a representative sample of millions of years of climate change.
20 years data is irrelevant !
Also I dont think there has been any proof that carbon dioxide is the cause of the any percieved temperature change. The link between the cause and effect has not been established.
I've got an idea which would stack up statistacally just as well.
A "scientific study" could be commissioned to graph world wide consumption of Coca Cola along side climate change. I'm sure the rise in worldwide consumption would correlate very neatly with rising temperatures. And ther hotter it is, the greater the consumption. Self fulfilling arguement
About as valid and logical as the CO2 arguement.
The "BENDIGO" Coca Cola global warming graph can now be added to those other theories. Greater correlation than CO2, Sunspots, or anything else., Foolpproof and accurate
I bet the "smiling professor" can hardly wait to take up the cause.

And in any case fossil fuel use is set to increase exponentially over the next few decades no matter what, and Australiias contribution to the man made addition of C02 in the atmosphere will make no difference at all. So as (I think it was Meerkat) said on this subject recently, there's nothing we can do about it, so bring it on.
