The way I see it, at least one of the US hospitals plans to continue using the app. Hence the study is possibly ongoing (as well as other studies running concurrently), therefore this can technically be described as an update. Technically an update doesn't necessarily mean results are delayed or that there isn't enough data to present to fda immediately.
