First, the green zealots would have us proceed with one hand behind our backs - stopping reliable fossil fuel provided energy [of which there are supplies for many, many years] BUT rule out nuclear energy. So, they would have us rely only on "renewables" South Australia is the template for that - an industrial wasteland.
Second, Australia's contribution to CO2 emissions [even they were significant, of which there is great scientific debate] is negligible. Anything we do to reduce emissions can only be negligible. Therefore, it is akin to trying to p*ss into the wind.
Third, China, India and now the US pay no regard to the matter anyway, yet it results in self-flagellation by small players like Australia. An exercise in abject futility.
Fourth, but by no means least, this obsession is all to no purpose anyway.
