I can imagine a doctor sitting in his surgery with a stethoscope around his neck asking his patient to cough so that he can determine what the problem is. His trained ear picks up that it may be pneumonia, or croup, or asthma or any other respiratory ailment but he is not quite sure. He then reaches for his smartphone and asks the patient to cough five times more as he wants to confirm his diagnosis with this terrific new device that has just received FDA approval. A few weeks later he realises that each time the he has used the new device it has accurately diagnosed his patient's condition. Next day another patient comes in and sees that the doctor no longer has a stethoscope around his neck. The new world has arrived.
