I'm quite nervous about the suspension. I don't understand why they couldn't have just put out an announcement saying that the results will be delayed but released shortly.

I recognise that the trial was delayed by the lower then expected number of participants (initially) during the flu season in the US. Only natural then that the results would be late too because it will have taken longer to collect enough data.
