G'Day and thanks for taking the time out to reply,
the NT was written in Greek. It was not translated from Hebrew
It appears there is a little misunderstanding here, I was referring to the OT & NT.
as in Emmanuel, God with us.
Wotsup have you ever considered that this is literal
The only begotten Son who is the only begotten God
God with us
It is literal and absolutely clear and obvious in the way it was foretold it would be and confirmed by Jesus.
Begotten Son & begotten God (god), are you seeing seeing what's right in front of you? Begotten comes from beget.
This begotten Son/god has a God & Father - 1 Peter 1:3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So if your trying to suggest this begotten Son/god here is The Almighty God then there is NO question about it, you ARE saying Jesus is his own Father and no matter how one tries to wriggle around this, this is what you have to be saying and have to face it.
In the OT it says along the lines of - I will send a Prophet, Messenger, root from Jesse etc and I will put my words in him and command him what to say and he will receive my Spirit. (can provide many verses if you want).
Now then, have a look at all of Jesus's baptism accounts in the Gospels, Spirit with no measure, God's word and then Jesus went out, went forth with Almighty God's Spirit and word in him. Just wander through John, Jesus is telling you this over and over.
So hence, God with us in his precious Son. The FULLNESS of Almighty God dwelt in the body of His Son.
Acts 2:22 Almighty God actually did the miracles THROUGH Jesus of which Jesus confirms many times.
Almighty God put his words (seed of God) in Jesus and commanded him what to say. Almighty God's word is also the living word that he put in Jesus. It is also Spirit and Life and keep in mind, Almighty God is a Spirit and Almighty God gives breath/life to every living creature - Who is the word then??? = Almighty God and Father of Jesus.
Jesus came to FINISH the work of His God and Father John 17:4, brought with him from The Father, The Word, The light and the Spirit. Jesus was given the name, The Word of God (after the Father) Rev 19:13, I am come "a" light into the world John 12:46, He received the promise of the Holy Spirit which ye now see and hear because of what he has done Acts 2:33.
GLORY - John 17:22 And the Glory which thou gaveth me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.
Are we God as well then?
People can carry on all they like about Jesus being the Word in John 1:1, but as we have several verses which CLEARLY state that Almighty God alone did the creation events, so until someone can show me that Jesus was the SPEAKER in Gen, then I will not be part of adding/changing Almighty God's word. BECAUSE this Word in John 1:1 as shown in verse 1:3 is clearly this SAME Word spoken in Gen's creation account = Fact based on Almighty God's word and NOT wotsup's.
Jesus himself tells us, Almighty God made them male and female. He doesn't say we, was he keeping that a secret = lies by omission = I say NOOOOOO!!!
So the Spirit and Word of Almighty God without measure dwelt with us in the flesh of His Son and that flesh came about, into the world by this SAME Word (John 1:1) of The Almighty God & Father of Jesus Christ, through Mary.
I must say though, you handle yourself better than I did when what was once my belief (the trinity) was challenged, it was like, bla bla how dare you challenge my God and saviour. After several weeks of reading without others influence the penny started to drop but I still went into denial mode. Then shame started to enter for the neglect of not reading enough all these years, so I stopped work for the next 6 mths or so as I was determined to get to the bottom of it with certainty.
Happy to look and properly examine any areas you may want to put up, it retests, strengthens and sometimes you still learn more.
Milk and meat of God, I say I am still on the milk.
If nothing else, I would suggest at least examine who is the Holy Spirit. I say it is the God & Fathers as he is a Spirit = One in the same and obviously now, Jesus shares this as promised above, which we see and hear because of, through Jesus.
There is but ONE Spirit.
