Amazon is not a threat -it's Coles, Aldi and IGA.
all that Woolies have done is to offload Masters and petrol . then they tried to turn the Woolies stores around by taking advantage of all the media hype- they basically said that they would undercut prices of Coles, Aldi and IGA, hoping for a surge of shoppers.
well they got a lot more shoppers as evidenced by last results of same store sales, but they are price discounting to an extreme. in other words, net profit is going nowhere.
it will be the same story this results, but shareholders will be very disappointed , once they realize that all the huff and puff amounts to nothing.
to top it off- the FF divvy to be announced at current SP will be below 3% PA.
