I don't know what the stats are re abuse but it's a concern imo. I remember two Aust guys were convicted in the US where they'd married for abusing their adopted son and they'd always called out any investigation as homophobic. Biological parents have a different inviolable bond that makes it safer for the child imo.

Would like more info on impact on children.
