I'm a newbie and learning a lot every day. After two full weeks of real trading (as opposed to the pretend trading I did for 6 months in preparation) I'm reasonably up in realised profits and somewhat down in "live" trades.

Today's drop with VRE was painful as Westpac broking doesn't have contingent orders (stop losses) and by the time I returned to my desk it had dropped dramatically. Only a few days ago it had risen dramatically triggering a sell order I had placed with no real expectation of it reaching that level. Ofcourse it went higher afterwards.

In the end I'm ahead and well ahead so I guess that's what counts.

Thanks for the response, I'm learning a lot just reading the posts you fellows put up.
