Not sure of that Cosmo (10 or 20 mil bbls, ie) as they'll have to look for any 'unswept' portion of the field or a newish compartment.
Buffalo was a smallish structure with multiple sands & had 4 Oil producing wells. Buff#3 & B5 were on a good location, so produced bulk of the Oil (15.9 mmbbls) for most of the 5 yrs of production (55 & 58 months to b exact), whilst B7 & B9 produced 3.6 & 1.022 mmbbls each over 30 & 9 month period.
Total prod was 20.5 mmbbls predominantly from B3, 5 & 7. In the last 15 mths of Production the Water cut got to 80% & then 87% & the JV tried 2 months of shut-in but that only got them 3 extra months of oil with not much change in Water cut. At the end Water to Oil cut was too high (85+%) to keep going.
Basically CVN just needs to look for any unswept sweetspot or a Sand & then come up with a plan to flush that oil or drill a well etc etc.
