There is no group of Australians that should celebrate the 26th of January more than Aboriginals. The system of everything that the British have given this country, places them in a far better position than any other nation of the time, would have.
I've mentioned before that we have family members in Brazil, and they quite often talk about Brazilian natives, and their wish that Brazil was settled by the British, and not the Portuguese. You'd probably have similar thoughts amongst other South American countries that were settled by the Spanish.
It's nice to think that the country would be left alone but that was never going to happen. As barren and inhospitable as Antarctica is, a dozen odd countries govern it under the 'Antarctic Treaty', so, anything better than inhospitable was always going to be settled.
