People have the right to celebrate any day they like in Australia. What Australia day means to most people is a piss up and a barbie with some Australia themed decorations. If you find Australia day offensive - the solution is simple - don't celebrate it. Same as if you're not Christian and don't approve of Christmas. The solution isn't to make a culture generic through removing all traces of individual groups in an attempt to create a happy inclusive atmosphere where no one is offended by anything.
