Nickel price has taken a far bigger hit than we had anticipated. We have hit a critical point of US$12 from a high of US54 which is a serious drop. How long can this last. For me personally I cannot see this lasting too much longer and suspect that this sharp drop is due to hedge funds playing with nickel stocks. The fundamentals in my view have not changed, other than the manipulation of the nickel price. Zinc did not drop this dramatically and rebounded within 6 months. Is Mincor or other nickel stocks a sell. If one sold at the top, then I would be inclined to buy. But this is me. MCR has cash, no debt and increasing production which will partly compensate for the sharp fall in nickel price. At times likes these, it is important to hold stocks which have strong fundamentals and proven track record, and MCR falls into this category in my view.
