Why would you need to download content more quickly? For video streaming it needs to just be at playback speed ( or a little faster to allow buffering). That's the point, you don't need higher speeds for individuals, you need higher throughput to serve more users and that's what 5G solves. Yes, data usage increases for higher quality video but I'd argue that higher quality video content is of limited value for small screen displays. Dib made a good point regarding VR but if you have a read about 5G potential (maybe look at Verizon's own 5G website), the increase in throughput and reduction in latency (for the support of for example autonomous car communication) is mind-boggling. I am pretty confident that, once fully commercialised, SYTs solution will become irrelevant. But the up-side for SYT is that 5G is still a distance away.
