L4W3N, you're being a bit disingenuous, my response to faster speeds was in reference to video streaming for which, of course, you only need to download as fast as the playback speed. Of course all of the above things can benefit from faster speeds but many of these things are not exceptionally high data functions and don't require quantum leaps in speed to give a pleasing experience. Many of that list can already be serviced by 4G now, I use some of those functions very satisfactorily including cloud storage and VOIP. Also many of those functions are requirements if you have a mobile office running off your mobile phone's network connection pretty much all the time but this isn't the reality. In many places you have your phone or mobile device, wireless networks are available to you to connect to and your phone will in fact connect automatically if available (work environments, hotspots etc etc). I've always carried a wireless 4G modem around and have never had issues with the speed in off the cuff locations (subject to service availability)
Thanks for the link but I've helped many businesses move to the cloud including Office 365, OneDrive and other like services, hosted VOIP services, hosted servers etc etc, I know enough already about this. None of this is new, none of this is going to suddenly be an issue when 5G is introduced. 5G will further alleviate any current issues that have resulted from the exponential rise in data usage due to the transition from 3G to 4G opening up these applications for use on mobile phones. This has created current bottlenecks. Yes 5G will open up new high data flow functions but nowhere near the extent that was created by the introduction of 4G. The most important advantage of 5G will be the ability for carriers to service ALL customers without the need to throttle speeds because of over-utilisation. And on that basis imo SYTs sponsored service becomes obsolete.
Anyway that's a long away, you are correct, there will also be a span of time form introduction of 5G to general mass use of the spectrum, and we can argue hypothetically all day but I doubt in a few years time you or I will be here telling each other I told you so.
