Companies like this provide the bitterest lesson there is for shareholders: processes that actually work, and are cheaper - but big business isn't interested. Orbital Energy Company is another example. I have a friend who works for them,and who contributed to developing their technology. For years OEC tried to get a deal with Ford and GM, but the latter, while conceding the benefits of the technology, never signed on the dotted line. It would have cost them far too much to change the way they do things. OEC now uses its technology on rickshaws.
