It was a long time ago I spoke to these farmers approx 2 years so perhaps my memory fails me. Would be good to hear the outcome of your chat with a2. Perhaps it was 11-13 cents pr litre - which is still significant.
As to your question - I think every farmer who doesn't have their head in the sand does want to convert, its just a matter of if there is anyone who will buy their milk after taking on the large cost of having the cows tested and to begin the conversion (geographical barriers etc). I think there as also a lot of traditionalists who believe the science is bogus and that the 'fad' will pass. Other than that a2 have indicated their "doors have been rushed with farmers wanting to supply them".
