GEOTHERMAL ENERGY COMPANY, Green Rock Energy Limited, (ASX code: GRK), is pleased to announce the appointment of three leading renewable energy consultants to assist the Company in identifying, evaluating and developing commercially based geothermal energy projects in Australia and overseas.
Green Rock Energy utilises the services of a limited number of specialists, with global experience in their respective geothermal / renewable energy fields, to provide the Company with the best available knowledge and expertise without the significant cost and administration that would come with direct employment during the Company’s early stages of growth.
The three consultants are:
Roy Baria – a geophysicist with specialities in seismic profiling and geothermal reservoir engineering. He is a director of MIL-TECH UK and Hot Dry Rocks Pty Ltd and was formerly Deputy Director of the U.K. Geothermal Project at Rosemanowes, England, and Scientist in Charge of the Soultz Geothermal project in Soultz-sous-Forêts, France. Roy worked alongside Green Rock Energy’s non- executive director, Jörg Baumgärtner at the Soultz geothermal project, the foremost Enhanced Geothermal System project in Europe. Ian Campbell – former Senator in the Australian Federal Government and most recently Federal Minister for the Environment. In this capacity he administered a range of government programs providing support to renewable energy industries. Ian served in various executive positions in the Senate from 1996, including Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer, Minister for Local Government, Territories and Roads, Minister for the Environment and Heritage and Minister for Human Services.
Jeff Harding – former CEO of Pacific Hydro Limited, one of Australia’s leading renewable energy companies. Jeff oversaw the successful completion of the Ord River Hydro Electric project in Western Australia, the Bakun Hydro Electric development in the Philippines, the successful entry of Pacific Hydro into wind energy projects in Australia and hydro electric projects in Chile.
The Company’s Managing Director, Adrian Larking, said "We are very pleased that three such experienced and senior people associated with renewable energy have agreed to work with Green Rock Energy. The consultants will provide their services to the Company on both an individual and collective basis. This is a flexible arrangement that will enable the Company to obtain the maximum benefit from their knowledge and operational experience, obtained at the highest levels in their different fields of renewable energy, which will complement that of Green Rock Energy’s management and board.
The Company is well positioned to undertake both the deep drilling at our Olympic Dam Geothermal Energy Project at Olympic Dam, following the mini-fracture program that will occur later this year, and progress the Hungarian Geothermal Project with the imminent selection and subsequent production testing of the second site in the Pannonian Basin of Hungary”.
My take. Great to see some more really high calibre people on the case. Apart from the markets getting belted which won't last forever, these people add tremendously to the team. cheers omg
