That US$600 Bill. could be a net estimate of the sub-prime loans loss only now and later on but won't include problems associated with the credit squeeze, the next important phenomenon, itself.
Govts may feed in much more into the system as much of it will be on a temporary basis, however, except for some US States who feel they should be doing something for the afflicted private subprime holder, the latter won't get any.
I think that Bernanke either deliberately understated the possible damage or did'nt know.
