Justin, I know little about GWR and nothing about FAS, but know a lot about these forums, and having to ask for advice here is putting yourself in great jeopady.

Whilst there are many knowledgeable and successful traders here, you don't know for certain who are writing for the general benefit of all or who are writing to feather their own stocks, and harder still who write for both reasons.

These forums are are to be used, IMO, as only a guide as to which stock may be of interest for you. Then YOU need to go out and do the hard slog.

When all stocks are rising on hot air, as in the dot-com, and more recently on the resources boom, it pretty much didn't matter where you park your money, it just grows. But for the near term at least, it doesn't matter how good or bad your investment is, it will be volatile to say the least, and which way it ends is anyone's guess.

Study the past, and you may see the future. But in the meantime YOU need to know how YOU would feel if you lost all or a substantial part of you investment. And how you would feel if your investment substantially surpassed your expectations, (and all the in betweens).
Then, how would you tackle both. Can YOU live with your worst fears? Be honest with yourself.

AND, don't TOTALLY believe in stop losses to be a saviour There have been many instances where stop losses were useless, or next to, or even worse than useless.

A couple of examples. BTA, lost something like 70% overnight and kept down more. QBE did likewise, but only to recover and make a mess of your finances if you were stopped. Gympie Gold ceased trading instantly because of a fire. I could go on.

If you believe nothing of what you read here, you WILL be better off. AND with that I sincerely apologise to the few honest posters here.

But even some of the honest, decent ones post with their hearts and not with their heads on occasions. It's human nature in most of us to be positive, and at times we don't want to believe we've made an error of judgement, and continue to see and talk about our duds thru' rose coloured glasses.

I'll give you one good use of this forum. If a stock is acting weirdly, and no news, someone on this forum can usually point to why. Eg, write-up in a newsletter. or similar.

In summary, believe little of what you read, and usually pay little attention to constant writers or folks that are heavily committed to a stock and write contiual positives on this stock.

Also a decent negative post can often be more beneficial than a positve one.

    Good Luck
