I have grave fears for this decision.
1. Where was the urgency in the actions taken. It's been hanging around worse than a bad smell
2. Unforeseen? It was talked about at the last election and even an attempt at passing a plebiscite through parliament
3. They tries legislating a plebiscite and failed to get itt passed.
I believe all 3 grounds should have ruled out the survey.
If this passes the HC (sorry High Court, not Hot Copper) then what other things will the government be now able to implement without parliamentary approval or even against parliamentary sanction? A far worse outcome in my mind than whether we do or don't have a plebiscite or SSM etc.
