because they dont compare eggs with eggs.
The basic houses people bought 20 years ago are far different than what everyone expects now!!
We all want 4 bedrooms, ensuite, ducted air, plasma etc.
thats why its unaffordable.
Our parents etc saved and waited for those things now the genaeration and society we live in wants it all now.
Its not just house payments its car, tv , holiday etc.
Maybe they can explain how anyone could have paid off a house at 17%.
if people are barking now at low 7's , they have over committed.
I may seem black and white but the truth hurts sometimes
