Hoots what is the scenario about to happen? Hows this for a little story book reading. Is it fact or fiction. You can be the judge. Time will tell.

All in last two weeks. Cloncurrylandowner (farmer)sees a convoy of white Toyotas loaded with Chinese heading out of Cloncurry on the Cloncurry to Selwyn Road. Thinks what the hell is this? He is heading into Cloncurry ad they are heading out. Says to himself FI and turns around to follow the convoy. Stays at a 200m m distance and convoy turns off to an old mine named "the Young Australian Copper Mine". About 5 klms in he follows like a sleuth, heart beating. Then they stop at the Mine. To make sure he is not uncovered spying, parks his trusty Tojo in the bush off the track. Then another Toyota comes in with more Chinese and passes him, but is unseen as is 100m off the dirt track with birdseye view at the visitors. They are all met by what appears to be the employees of the Owners of the Mine QMN. There is a big drill rig on site hammering away. WTF. The cars have written on the side: SINOSTEEL, CHINOVA and Queensland Mining Corporation. He thinks WTF again. Then they start looking into bags of what has been drilled and all laugh and shake hands and go for a stiff legged swagger walk and a gentle relief. All very excited. Landowner thinks time to leave,makes his way back to Cloncurry. Cant stop thinking about what he has just witnessed. An invasion plan>? maybe? He cant leave it alone he has to know WTF, who are these people. Being a local casually makes makes some investigations at local hotels and Motels. Very simple in Cloncurry to get information. There were 20 Chinamen congregated in the bush, Its big. One establishment says, " yes we have an entourage of Chinese staying from Sinosteel Corporation. What are their names he asks. The Chairman Mr Lu and the Deputy and a bunch of other high ranking officials. Drank what Grange and 389 we had left. What are they doing here the landowner asks. Have no idea says the establishment. But very upbeat and very well mannered. At dinner he said the group dined with the Chinese senior management of CuDeco including the COO and the Chairman. He said they quite often dine here and drink all his red. He said, very cosy. So the end to this story is probably going to be played out soon or never, if all true. Oh yeah Chinova joins the dinner. the plot thickens. As I understand the Chinese Mining Company, Chinova, that bought the Robert Friedland previously owned Selwyn mine and the Young Australian Copper Mine. After a bit of digging on the QMN website I see that Chinova and QMN are in a JV on that mine.
Hoots if the little story book is correct then one of my scenario's may get played out. You could check out the story by ringing the Gidgee Inn or the Red Rock or the Leichardt Hotel in Cloncurry, test the story for yourself. If it did happen this would be the likey places to stay.
Could all be made up story. DYOI. Not so sure. Pretty hard to make up, i think?
Did however notice that QMN has risen 400% since May. Thats 100% per month. Reasonable in this market? join the dots
