Schools must only have listened carefully to Maccas, because our education standards are dropping like a stone.
There is some improvement in the low echelon of students who receive all the funding and attention, but the rest are basically left to fend for themselves, and the results are alarming. Basically, if you don't have learning difficulties, special needs or belong to a vocal minority group then you better be pretty self-sufficient. So the low performing students are improving a bit, and the top performing students are racing down the hill to meet them.
Of course, a return to what worked in the past would improve our overall educational outcomes. But that just ain't gonna happen with the likes of Dan Andrews, Roz Ward and dozens of others introducing the latest liberal fads into the education system, pissing our money up against the wall and turning our schools into little more than mind-warping day care centres.
It is a freakin' disaster. How anyone could see it any other way is beyond me.
