    You are wrong to accuse NZ of relying on coal power for electricity generation. For a long time NZ has generated electricity predominantly via hydro & geothermal plants. In recent years they have also embraced wind energy. From memory when I left NZ in 2013 approx. 80% of electricity was generated via renewables.
