Obviously the stop loss tactic is not foolproof. Even from your example of a sell at $2.52 if the run continues to $3, you will not have left your profits run. Also stop-losses are not made for speccie stocks where volatility is often the norm. ( There was a 10% spread between high and low GXY price yesterday alone.) And definitely, don't use margin loans to buy speccies.
