I am almost embarrassed to advise that the extent of my research knows no bounds. I have now just discovered Mexico's Patent Office database. Who would have thought that our very own Jeffrey Edwards and Matthew McIldowies inventions (OBJ's two leading scientists) would have a patent application filed in that office - and only just filed in March this year. Here is the entry in the Mexican Patent Gazette. As you can see, while it names Edwards and McIldowie as inventors, it is Procter & Gamble's patent application.
Thoughts? What is it? Why Mexico? And on what basis has OBJ consented to the transfer of ownership to P&G in relation to this intellectual property? I've looked at the corresponding WIPO entry, which is very brief at this stage, which can be found here.
The really exciting thing from my point of view is that I have discovered absolutely nothing to do with OBJ in Mexico until now. Are we looking at the globalisation of dermatological magnetophoresis?
