Markets don't like uncertainty.
The two most senior execs have both now left over the past year without successors in place.
Inevitably there will be questions as to whether there have been fundamental disagreements with the Chairman on strategy (as has been alluded to earlier in this thread).
Combine that with the fact that the Chairman now seems completely immersed in the possibility of a new rugby competition and you wonder what may have happened recently in the FMG boardroom.
On replacements hard to see that Lilleyman who was passed over in the not too distant past to run a portion of Rio's portfolio, could now be well suited to being the CEO of a public company. Especially as Lilleyman brings an operator perspective, which is what Power has brought (very successfully).
