the 5G spectrum has nothing to do with speed as such .
what it basically means for providers is a lot more data being transmitted by a single dish.
that means that Telstra and Optus will have two options- transmit data at the same rate for a fraction of the cost or go on to their premium plan and get mega download speed that is required in situations like hospital surgery and such like.
