The CEO's job is to articulate the appropriate strategic intent and have the ability to look over the horizon. Thody was visionary, whereas Penn is reactionary. One created the value the other has destroyed it. Sorry, but if the share price slumps 40% on your watch, then the head huncho has to take the heat and provide mitigating proposals to steer the ship towards calmer waters. So far, I've seen nothing other than red - stagnant return on capital employed, over stretched balance sheet, margins under pressure and zero foresight on what's next.
