"Could go to zero is a plane flying with this technology hits the deck (God forbid) and metal (or other structure specific failure) fatigue is found to be the cause."

    That's not necessarily true Jimmy.

It would definitely depend on the individual circumstance of exactly WHERE the metal fatigue occurred.

For example if it was in... 1) a higher risk area in which CVM wasn't installed (eg. rotating turbo-fan blades within engine cowling etc).... or 2) a "lower risk" section of the fuselage where fatigue is rare and an application was never asked to be installed, then the technology could hardly be blamed.

On the other hand, as you said.... IF it were to happen in an area under CVM coverage then the company's reputation would be at risk as it should be. However, all the failure risk situations that have been assessed have come back as within the acceptable parameters of "likelihood of detection" as far as all the regulatory bodies and OEMs are concerned so according to the experts that's unlikely to happen.

They, as with management, have displayed faith in the system's ability to do the job WHERE USED. If the problem lies in other areas (fast-rotating engine fan blades with no coverage etc.) we can legitimately say "Not our fault".

Have faith Jimmy.... this is great technology according to those inside the industry who know.
