On the pipeline to Moomba, please remember that the NT government only recently looked at that route to market and made the decision to go with the northern route via Mt Isa, which is now under construction by
Jemena. I don't see the need for both pipelines as the available gas, without fracking, won't require two pipelines. Even if fracking gets the green light in NT, pricing will be a huge issue.
Xenophon wants it to feather the nest in SA, but I don't think it is commercial at this point. It's the same as the WA line which is being discussed again. Too much capex to make it work.
Both will get airplay in the current environment but at $2 billion and $5 billion respectively, it doesn't make commercial sense and that is why they are not being discussed by the gas and pipeline companies.
