Nice post. Small error though. The GE announcement did not have the immediate effect of making the price go up, it in fact went down, waaay down! I know because I was caught holding a significant amount of CFD's. It was a few months later that it inexplicably took of - luckily I held on to them hehe - most likely as institutional investors overseas started to look at slx following the international roadshow by the directors.
As I say a small error but significant given your otherwise correct assertion that the price has seemed to always go down in response to announcements. Given the recent 'price correction' I personally do not believe this time will be the same though. Coming off these levels (roughly what it was at the time of the GE announcement) none of the upcoming news has been priced in. Precisely why in part I have added to my holdings in the last few days.
