Ah - now I consider myself quite well equipped to answer this question- I have one nephew whom is gay and another nephew whom is coming forward as transgender- two different sisters children.

I have a child with cystic fibrosis - that is unrelated to gender- however - for people like your self that are perhaps unfamiliar with genetic diseases and chromosome disorders - they are real- there are many different mutations in any genetic disorders- and the variations are hundred fold- quite difficult for a lay person that has no medical experience to understand.
I also concur that this has become so popular that a lot of other misfits may have been swept up in the fashion- however being gay or stuck in the wrong body gender wise is real- it is not a fashion- and to help normal people understand there are many different mutations - being trans gender is not the same as being gay - but to try to explain my one nephew really is a girl - but born in a boys body - the other is a boy but is somehow a girl and likes boys ? hard to grasp- but it is not a fashion , and is just a mutation that these people have no control over - they have to find their way to love and acceptance in a very difficult reality.
Given that I have a very strong family connection and understanding of gay and transgender issues- it does not change my view point that children should not be stuck in this struggle and become goods that are procured because we change the law.

It is my firm belief that we should whole heartedly allow ssm marriage - however we need to be very careful about what we allow with regard to legally being able to obtain children into these situations.

Anyone that is not prepared to work out the details should have a long look at their motives or understanding of the law.
