What about the European colonisers? Were they sponging off Africa when they colonised it, took a hell of a lot of their natural resources without investing in the country they took it from, and millions of their people for slavery?
I know, you're going to say that was ages ago, get over it....
But the reality is those issues are at the heart of the poor pace of development in Africa.
Many African countries are at war. Others have zero economic prospects. There are people who have been living in Kenyan refugee camps for over 20 years. Please look into the circumstances of migration, and why so many are bothering to do it in the first place, rather than stamp it all as collective sponging.
