Here's something I didn't previously know.........Clorox imo has always been a front contender as our Surface Hygiene partner, but I didn't realise that P&G actually own 20% of one of Clorox's brands Glad and also have other collaborations ongoing with Clorox. Maybe a joint venture spin-off involving Clorox/P&G/OBJ is a possibility for Surface Hygiene (throw in an accelerator) and one that I had not previously considered; or maybe there is more to the current delays of more than 7 years now, for a program that was touted as quick to market:
OAKLAND, Calif. and CINCINNATI, Dec. 16, 2004 – The Clorox Company (CLX: NYSE/PCX) and The Procter & Gamble Company (PG: NYSE) today announced that P&G’s board of directors has authorized P&G to pay Clorox $133 million to increase P&G’s interest from 10 percent to 20 percent in the Glad products joint venture. Clorox will own the remainder of the Glad business. Twenty percent is the maximum investment P&G is allowed under the joint venture agreement. The transaction is expected to close in January 2005.
The Glad products joint venture, which was formed in January 2003, has exclusive access to a range of current and future patents, trademarks and other proprietary technologies developed by P&G to drive innovation and growth on food and trash bags, wraps and containers under the Glad®, GladWare® and related trademarks.
“We’re pleased that P&G has exercised the option to increase their investment in the joint venture,” said Glad Vice President-General Manager Beth Springer. “This action reflects our mutually high levels of confidence in the Glad business stemming from the success of Glad® Press ‘n Seal™ wrap and ForceFlex™ trash bags, the two gamechangers launched since the joint venture’s inception. We look forward to continuing to leverage the strength of the Glad brand and our strong operational expertise with Procter & Gamble’s innovative technologies to build this important category for Clorox.”

Remember UWA /OBJ tested Golden Staph or Staphylococcus aureus for a second time back in 2016 with promising kill rates again using benzalkonium chloride (BKC). For P&G /Clorox to be able to make a claim in the future along the lines of doubling/tripling the kill rate or 200-300% improved kill rate would be a nice feather in their respective caps. Unfortunately though for Shareholders, OBJ commenced work in Surface Hygiene in 2010 and there is absolutely nothing about this Surface Hygiene program that is quick to market as we were promised all those years ago and an update is well overdue. We know that OBJ tested benzalkonium chloride (BKC) and Triclosan:

Could the below be the current problem with delays; and if so, why wouldn't OBJ simply advise their Shareholders instead of going into stealth mode as is the case with what's transpiring with GSK & Coty. Way to go OBJ - testing

P&G affected by FDA’s new ban on antibacterial ingredients
The FDA said Friday the rule would affect about 2,100 products, or 40 percent of the soaps and body wash market.
The ban applies to consumer products containing one or more of 19 active ingredients. The two most commonly used are
triclosan (in liquid soap) and triclocarban (in bar soap).
“Regarding triclocarban, we have one Safeguard bar of soap variant in the U.S. that we’ve already reformulated and will be replaced well ahead of the FDA deadline,” P&G spokeswoman
Tressie Rose told me. “A lot of coverage has focused on triclosan, which P&G removed from our products a few years ago."
This rule doesn’t affect consumer hand sanitizers, wipes or antibacterial products used in health care settings, the FDA said.
Procter & Gamble Co. is among U.S. manufacturers affected by a new Food & Drug Administration rule that bans the marketing of antibacterial soaps that contain ingredients that might do more harm than good.
In response to request from manufacturers, the FDA deferred rulemaking for one year on three additional ingredients used in consumer wash products:
benzalkonium chloride, benzethonium chloride and cholroxylenol (PCMX). Consumer antibacterial washes containing those ingredients may be marketed while their safety and effectiveness are studied further.'

The above doesn't seem to affect '
consumer hand sanitizers, wipes or antibacterial products used in health care settings', so perhaps there is a reprieve for OBJ and their testing of Triclosan and benzalkonium chloride for now if that paragraph is interpreted correctly. But seriously OBJ BOD, this Surface Hygiene Program began in 2010.......7 years ago as a quick to market category. What's the hold up??? You can almost get a Pharmaceutical through three Phases of clinical trials in that amount of time???
Meanwhile P&G have just announced a week ago that they will finish work early next year on their largest ever construction project:
'Two years after breaking ground in Tabler Stations, WV,
Procter & Gamble is on track to complete work on its largest-ever construction project early next year.
The company has reportedly invested $500 million in the new 468-acre site, which will ultimately employ about 700 workers.
The first building at the site will open in January 2018 and will reportedly make Bounce dryer sheets but the company has said it will likely move production of other items like Swiffer dusters and Tide fabric softener pens, which are currently made at a soon-to-be-closed plant in Brockvill, OT, as well as products in its Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Olay and Old Spice brands.
