The Solagran web page says that Dr. Vagif Soultanov is Executive Chairman and principal founder of Solagran. "He has published over 60 scientific papers in Russia and internationally." Anybody that has published over 60 scientific papers must surely be highly respected.

I have checked with Medline. It covers international publications in several languages (including Russian) on topics such as clinical medical studies, biomedicine, and allied health fields relating to the biological and physical sciences. Its coverage is 1950-2007.

A search on "Soultanov" produces nothing. However Medline shows that a V.S. Sultanov has published two papers in Russia, one with 'Ropren' in the title. It is a different spelling of the surname but it must surely be the same guy.

OK, so it is not 60 papers, but presumably the others are in some field other than the medical. So I checked Biosis and there we are! Two more. A paper on phospholipids published in Russian in 1993. And in 1991, in the Journal of Wood Chemistry and Technology, a paper on phenols. So the other (over) 56 publications will be lurking around, even though I didn't find them in these databases of international publication. Medline and Biosis can't cover everything.

So what that Dr Soultanov is a naturopath? His treatment made an AFL coach lose weight.

There you can read a quote attributed to Dr Soultanov, in which he said that weight loss is: "A side-effect to my fasting and fluid diet, which I have used to treat all sorts of ailments from eczema to cancer."
