All contact between surfaces i.e tyres and concrete in this instance, have a co-efficient of friction (μ).

In this instance, if the μ is equal between the surface of the tyres and the surface of the concrete and the concrete wears less (as shown in Edencrete concrete) then the tyres must wear more.

If the tyres and Edencrete Concrete are to wear less then the μ between the surfaces of the tyres and the concrete would need to be reduced. Given that tyres won't be changing, then the concrete would have to be smoother.

Big problem there is that means a slipperier surface which I'm guessing will not meet any of the DOT standards.

My assumption is that the edencrete concrete is bonded together better than standard concrete which prevents it particles from breaking apart as easily. But the surface will still be prepared according to DOT standards
