I agree with most of this. I think you understand where I am coming from concerning the need for more experts in the field.
Only thing I can comment on with respect to your reply is this:
Foxconn onboard as they dont wanted to miss out on the market as their competitor supported xzyprinting.
RBO needs to leverage on Foxconn team of experts to better improve or introduce new products.
This was literally the first search result on google for "foxconn and 3d printing". Not so sure its a good thing when the top guy at robo's manufacturer doesn't believe in the technology.

It's as though Gou was a non-believer in 3d printing until, as you mentioned in your reply, the competing New Kingpo Group started climbing up the ladder. Does this guy believe in 3d or is it just a ploy to keep his shareholders happy?
