The story is about killing harmless civilians, in horrible ways, with the killers themselves admitting after all these years that they were no threat. This was worse than My Lai, for which somebody at least was tried.
I recognise fully that others than the Americans have done these things and worse, but it's through the shock of Americans doing it that progress may be made. And it shows that, despite the hue and cry when Americans are held and the hypocrisy of yak posting a "bring back the MIAs" platitude on his posts in the past, that really, American soldiers are not the good guys at all.
Because in order to criticise, one must have moral standing. A murderer cannot criticise another murderer, or claim to have rid the world of a dictator, when defenceless civilians have suffered and are suffering injustice and mistreatment of the worst sort - at the hands of Americans. And Americans have sought and are seeking to cover it up. Why? Because of the reasons I just stated.
