JA, yeah, interesting situation eh? If usa lowers rates then usd will make an asteroid arrival look like a picnic.. which I think will devalue us debt held in foreign hands.. except by those with matched currencies like china .. and will boost the domestic value of us earnings abroad.. which is about 50% of S&P 500 earnings.. oil will probably rise as the shieks won't like their export income reduced in real value so they'll want to keep pace.. gold should rise but will it.. ahh i give up.. brain hurts.. i'l just trade the charts..

P., yeah, what you say makes sense in a general way for sure but it just shows that in the short term some things just don't make sense I reckon..
