Hewitt lacks the big game to make short work of opponents, so he has to grind it wins and is knackered too soon in the grand slams. I doubt he will win another major. But he certainly got the very most out of his ability to all credit to him. If you could combine Hewitt's guts and determination into Philippoussis' raw ability then he would be unbeatable.

The Scud was our best pure talent player of the last 30 years I reckon but he wasted it.

And I concur with tilerman at least Hewitt pays his taxes. I thought it was a little odd when Rafter won Australian of the Year he was living in Bermuda for tax purposes.
