    Average Broadband subscriber download 217GB (according to latest ABS), if the average plan is $70, that equates to $0.32 per GB, mobile data costs about $7 per GB

    In practice fixed line is currently around 20 times cheaper than mobile for subscribers. (assuming mobile subscriber uses all data)

    In theory the cost per GB for a heavy home user could currently be as low as $0.10, which makes it 60 times cheaper than mobile.

    As to scalability;
    Mobile currently only provides 3% of the download per subscriber that fixed line does. (same ABS stats). Mobile usage would have to increase by 33x to catch up the current hodge-podge fixed line setup. (ignoring cost)

    NBN rollout will be complete before 5G is even available to most people, that will increased fixed line usage more than the 5G rollout will do for mobile.

    Look at a better example of Fiber vs Mobile, in NZ fixed line plans are available at 950Mbps upload, 500Mbps upload, unlimited data for $120, how can mobile compete with that. Thats 10x better than our best fixed line plans.

    Fixed line can scale.
