I some how lost my long responses to your questions but to summarise what my thoughts was as following:
You have followed the normal behaviour of labelling group of people according to certain attributes and living habits.
Even Govt departments have specific labels for legal and official recognition of certain group. Different titles doesn't equate to inequalities.
The SS tactics is to blur sub-group titles -homosexuals and lesbians - into a more palatable title. Currently, the title pushed by the lobbyist is 'Same Sex'.
As I mentioned above different titles doesn't equate to inequality!
The arguments that you have put foreword suggests that equality isn't the issue. Certain words are more important than achieving equality.
Thus the only conclusion is that the SS community are suffering from a mental hang-up and believe that the majority of people wont consider them as 'normal', unless they can hijack the words marriage and wedding.
This arguments pushed by the SS lobbyist is contributing to the self inflicted mental suffering by the younger members of the same sex community.
