    The bible narrative says that God destroyed the earth and all people - that is the way that people who believe that this narrative is literal take it. You say that this is fact.
    Genesis 6:9 New International Version (NIV)
    11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence.12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.


    What you have to logically believe if you take this as fact is that God was so hacked off with his creation that he destroyed practically all of it to start again. The second attempt was no better so he had to send his Son on a sacrificial mission to put things right. Apparently the third attempt hasn't worked either, so God has to send his Son again to sort out the mess.
